Infographic

This week we had to make an infographic poster about how new zealand makes its money. We found out that some of the main sources of New Zealand's income included tourism, agriculture, and construction. Here is my poster.

Rising ocean levels

This week we had to write about an environmental issue, I decided to write about our rising sea levels.
We had to answer a series of questions; here is my writing.

Budget

This term our focus in LH1 is money, this week we had a few workshops on budgeting, what it is and how to set up a budget ! Here are some slides about budgeting.

Culture Club - Country Inquiry

Recently in my classroom we have done an inquiry about different countries around the world.
We got to choose our countries so my buddy Carys and I chose the country Argentina.

We included lots of information their national dish, national outfit and much more.
We dressed up in a really cool Argentinian outfits and even had a red flower in our hair.
We also brought a national dish. The dish we brought was kebabs with chimichurri sauce, it was delicious.

I loved this experience and have learnt so much about different countries.

Kapa Haka Festival!

Recently at our school we participated in a Kapa Haka festival.

This festival is for schools all around Gisborne, our school participates every second year.

It was so much fun and we had been practising for a very long time.

Some of the songs we sang in our bracket were Tu mai ra, Ti hei, Purea nei, E Minaka ana and He honore! I enjoyed this experience so much and wish I could do it again.

CCA ~ VOCAB

In class we are reading a book called Mrs Frisby & The Rats Of Nimh.
We are reading it for Chapter Chat. Chapter Chat is a New Zealand based company. Many classes around the whole country have signed up to read a certain book every term. Every class has to read a certain amount of pages every week. After we have read the amount of pages assigned to our class we have to answer questions about the story. We also do activities relating to the story. This week I chose to do the vocabulary activity. The vocabulary activity takes words out of the story and we have to find the definition of the words. There are 6 words in total. After you have done your activity you can post it on twitter where everyone that does Chapter Chat can see it. Here is my vocabulary activity!
